It helps you see what each direction asks of you, where it may lead, and what inner priority should guide your choice.

The Spread at a Glance

Before You Shuffle
Define the three paths clearly and write them down before drawing. Keep them specific enough to compare: accept the offer, remain where you are, or pursue a different opportunity. Ask, “What do I need to understand about these three paths before I decide?”
How to Lay Out the Cards
Place card one at the top center. Beneath it, create three columns for the three paths: cards two and three on the left, four and five in the center, and card six on the right. Place card seven below the entire layout. If you want equal detail for every path, draw an optional eighth card beneath card six to separate its opportunity and challenge.
Card 1: What Matters Most
This card identifies the standard your decision should serve. It may point to security, growth, honesty, freedom, belonging, healing, or long-term purpose. Return to it whenever one option looks attractive for reasons that do not truly matter to you.
Cards 2–6: The Three Paths
Read each path as an exchange rather than a verdict. An opportunity card shows what can develop; a challenge card shows the energy, sacrifice, or skill the path demands. A difficult card does not automatically mean “no,” and an easy card does not guarantee lasting satisfaction.
Card 7: Your Guiding Wisdom
This final card is less about predicting an outcome and more about showing you how to meet the choice. It may advise patience, decisive action, better information, firmer boundaries, collaboration, or trust in what you already know.
How to Read the Story
Compare the paths to card one. Which option best supports what matters most? Then notice where the challenge feels worthwhile rather than merely familiar. The strongest path is often not the one without difficulty, but the one whose difficulty leads somewhere meaningful.
